Lucknow, June 25: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the state has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past nine years, emerging as one of India’s fastest-growing states with improved governance, strong law and order, and world-class infrastructure. He said Uttar Pradesh now offers an environment that is highly conducive to investment, business, and economic growth.
Addressing an event, the Chief Minister said that nearly a decade ago, Uttar Pradesh was often associated with poor law and order, policy paralysis, and slow development. He noted that sectors such as agriculture and MSMEs had faced significant challenges, but sustained reforms and development initiatives have helped change the state’s image and growth trajectory.
Yogi Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh today boasts one of the country’s best law and order systems, extensive road, rail and air connectivity, and modern infrastructure. He highlighted that the state has India’s largest expressway network, accounting for nearly 60 percent of the country’s expressway length, along with a railway network spanning around 16,000 kilometres and a road network of nearly four lakh kilometres.
The Chief Minister also pointed to key infrastructure milestones, including the operational National Waterway-1 between Varanasi and Haldia, the Delhi–Meerut Rapid Rail corridor, metro rail services in seven cities, and the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors, which intersect at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh. He said these developments have significantly strengthened connectivity and positioned the state as a major engine of India’s economic growth.
