Guwahati: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has taken strict action against the illegal stocking of construction and demolition (C&D) materials on A.M. Road in Guwahati, imposing penalties on the violator as part of its ongoing drive to keep public spaces clean and free from obstructions.
According to a post shared by the GMC on its official X handle, the civic body carried out the enforcement action after detecting the unauthorized stocking of construction and demolition materials on the busy roadway. Officials stated that such violations hinder the smooth movement of pedestrians and vehicles while compromising public safety and cleanliness.
The municipal corporation reiterated that illegal dumping or stocking of construction materials on public roads is a violation of civic regulations and will invite strict action. GMC said it remains committed to maintaining obstruction-free roads, promoting civic discipline, and ensuring a cleaner and safer urban environment for residents.
