Rafiq Ahmed Choudhury extended Eid-ul-Adha greetings to people in Assam, across India and abroad on the occasion of the holy festival.
In his message, Choudhury said Eid-ul-Adha carries the values of sacrifice, compassion and service to humanity. He stated that the festival inspires people to strengthen mutual respect, brotherhood and social harmony.
Greeting the people of Sribhumi district, the Barak Valley and the rest of the country, he wished everyone peace, happiness and prosperity. He also expressed hope that the spirit of Eid would help unite people beyond religious and social differences.
Speaking to the media, Choudhury said Assam and the Barak Valley have a long tradition of communal harmony where people from different communities celebrate festivals together. He urged citizens to celebrate Eid peacefully and responsibly without causing inconvenience to others.
During his address, he also raised concern over the poor condition of roads in Sribhumi district and appealed to the district administration, PWD officials and other concerned authorities to take necessary repair measures to reduce public inconvenience, especially during the monsoon season.
He concluded his message by extending Eid Mubarak wishes to people of all religions and communities across Assam and the Barak Valley.
