All India Muslim Jamaat Urges Akhilesh Yadav to Declare Muslim CM Face for 2027 UP Polls

Bareilly, June 22: The All India Muslim Jamaat has called on Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav to announce a Muslim leader as the party’s chief ministerial candidate for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

The demand was made by Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, president of the All India Muslim Jamaat, through a letter addressed to the Samajwadi Party leader. Razvi stated that Muslims have consistently supported the Samajwadi Party over the years and played a significant role in helping its candidates and leaders secure victories in both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

According to Razvi, the Muslim community has strongly backed the Samajwadi Party and the Yadav family for decades. He argued that the party should now reciprocate that support by projecting a Muslim leader as its chief ministerial face for the 2027 Assembly elections. He suggested that the party contest the election under the leadership of a Muslim candidate rather than Akhilesh Yadav himself.

Razvi further claimed that such a move would encourage Muslims to support the Samajwadi Party with greater enthusiasm and help it secure a decisive mandate in the next state election. He also warned that if the demand is not considered, the level of support received by the party from Muslim voters in 2022 may not be repeated in 2027.

The Samajwadi Party has not yet issued any official response to the demand. Political observers believe the statement could add a new dimension to discussions surrounding caste and community representation ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
