Pawan Khera Says BJP Will Be Held Accountable if Congress Returns to Power

New Delhi, June 26: Senior Congress leader and Chairman of the Media & Publicity Department (Communications) of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), Pawan Khera, launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that democratic institutions and the media have been systematically weakened during the party’s tenure.

Addressing a public gathering, Khera said that if the Congress returns to power, it would hold the BJP accountable for what he described as the actions of the past 12 to 15 years. He claimed that BJP leaders would struggle to face the public after their alleged conduct during this period is examined.

Khera further alleged that media freedom has been curtailed, constitutional institutions have been undermined, and agencies such as the Election Commission, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have been misused. He also accused the BJP of weakening democratic values through interference in key institutions, saying that these developments have already become part of the country’s recorded history. The BJP has consistently rejected similar allegations made by the Congress, maintaining that constitutional institutions function independently and in accordance with the law.
