Assam Government to Present First Full Budget on July 10, Says BJP Assam President Dilip Saikia

Guwahati, June 25: Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia on Thursday said that the BJP-led government, which was sworn in for a second consecutive term under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, will present its first full state budget in the Assam Legislative Assembly on July 10. The budget will be tabled by Finance Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah.

Speaking to the media, Saikia expressed confidence that the upcoming budget would further accelerate Assam’s development journey, guided by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” He said the state government remains committed to the welfare of economically weaker sections, lower middle-class and middle-class families through inclusive development policies.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, Saikia said Assam has witnessed significant economic growth over the past decade. He claimed that the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has more than doubled compared to a decade ago, while the per capita income has increased from around ₹85,000 in 2014–15 to nearly ₹1.9 lakh. He added that the government’s development-focused approach has helped Assam emerge as a strong contributor to the vision of a developed India.
