Lucknow, June 23: A devastating fire at a commercial building housing an animation training centre in Lucknow reportedly claimed 15 lives and left several others injured, triggering a major rescue operation and raising concerns about fire safety measures in commercial establishments.
According to reports circulating on social media and local accounts of the incident, the blaze rapidly engulfed the building, trapping students and young professionals inside. Witnesses described hearing desperate cries for help as those trapped attempted to escape through smoke-filled corridors and burning sections of the structure.
Videos shared online showed people trying to climb down pipes attached to the exterior of the building while others called out for assistance from upper floors. Thick black smoke and towering flames could be seen billowing from the building, creating panic in the surrounding area.
