Senior BJP leader and MLA Ashok Singhal expressed confidence that Assam is heading towards a “golden era” under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and with the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Speaking to reporters after attending a party meeting, Singhal said that in the Bharatiya Janata Party, becoming a minister is not a matter of ambition or status but a responsibility assigned by the party.
He stated that whichever MLA or leader is entrusted with ministerial responsibility by the party would carry out the duty sincerely. Referring to the NDA’s strong mandate in Assam, Singhal said all 102 NDA legislators are committed to working together for the development of the state over the next five years.
According to him, Assam is moving toward rapid progress and transformation into a developed state. He credited the BJP’s governance model, ideology, and welfare-oriented approach for the party’s repeated electoral victories across the country.
Singhal further said that people are gradually realizing the BJP’s efforts to improve the lives of the poor, strengthen peace, and accelerate development in both the state and the nation. He added that this growing public trust has helped the BJP continue winning elections one after another.
During the interaction, Singhal also took a swipe at Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi. He alleged that opposition leaders often criticize Assam’s development projects while targeting the BJP politically.
“Opposing BJP is acceptable in democracy, but opposing Assam’s development hurts the sentiments of the people,” Singhal remarked.
When asked whether Gaurav Gogoi’s political presence benefits or harms the BJP, Singhal responded that the BJP’s strength comes from the support of the people. He said as long as the party continues to work humbly among the masses and seek public blessings, its victories will continue.
