Guwahati: Amid the demanding nature of police duties, more than 100 personnel of the Guwahati Police took part in an eye health camp organised at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD).
The camp was conducted in collaboration with Centre For Sight, a specialised eye-care provider with centres in Guwahati. Police personnel were provided with eye examinations and consultations as part of the initiative aimed at encouraging them to pay greater attention to their eye health. Centre For Sight operates eye-care facilities in Guwahati, including centres at Bhangagarh and Rukminigaon.
According to Guwahati Police, over 100 personnel benefited from the consultations and examinations during the camp. The initiative was organised with the objective of supporting the health and well-being of police personnel, whose duties often involve long hours and demanding working conditions.
The camp was held under the Central Guwahati Police District, one of the policing districts within the Guwahati Police Commissionerate. Official Assam Police records list Smti. Shambhavi Mishra, IPS, as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), Guwahati.
The initiative reflects the importance of preventive healthcare for police personnel, with regular health screenings helping them remain fit to carry out their responsibilities.
