Two Assam Police Personnel Killed in Firing at Boko Outpost, Two Others Injured

Boko: A late-night shooting at a police outpost in Assam’s Kamrup district has left two police personnel dead and two others injured after an alleged firing by a fellow policeman, sending shockwaves through the department.

The incident took place on Wednesday night at the Gamerimura Police Outpost under Boko Police Station. According to the information available, an AK-47 rifle was allegedly used during the firing.

The two deceased personnel have been identified as Fazrul Ali and Indrajit Bora, who was serving as the officer-in-charge of the Gamerimura Police Outpost. Two other policemen reportedly suffered bullet injuries in the incident and were taken for medical treatment.

The alleged shooter has been identified as police employee Chiranjeev Choudhury. However, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and authorities have yet to establish what led to the incident or what may have triggered the alleged firing.

The Gamerimura outpost falls under the jurisdiction of Boko Police Station. Following the incident, senior police officials are expected to conduct a detailed investigation to reconstruct the sequence of events and determine the circumstances in which the firing occurred.
