Guwahati, September 6, 2026: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced further changes to train services in the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section as restoration work continues near New Harangajao. According to the latest update issued by NFR, Line Nos. 2 and 3 at New Harangajao have been restored, while work on Line No. 1 is progressing.
In view of the ongoing restoration work, the railway has introduced additional cancellations, rescheduling and operational restrictions for several trains during the first week of September.
As per the latest notice, Train No. 15617 Guwahati–Dullabcherra Express, scheduled to commence its journey on September 7, 2026, has been cancelled. Its return service, Train No. 15618 Dullabcherra–Guwahati Express, scheduled for September 8, has also been cancelled.
Meanwhile, Train No. 15650 Narangi–Agartala Express, scheduled for September 6 and September 7, has been rescheduled to depart from Narangi at 6:30 pm. The Train No. 20501 Agartala–Anand Vihar Terminal Tejas Express, scheduled for September 7, will now depart from Agartala at 7:00 pm.
The railway has also revised the departure time of Train No. 14037 Silchar–New Delhi Poorvottar Sampark Kranti Express scheduled for September 7. The train will now depart from Silchar at 10:10 pm.
In another operational adjustment, Train No. 12501 Kolkata–Agartala Express, scheduled for September 6, will be regulated en route suitably, according to the railway’s latest update.
The changes are linked to restoration work being carried out near New Harangajao, where railway tracks on Lines 1 and 2 had earlier experienced settlement. Train operations through the affected section have been maintained with safety measures while restoration work has continued. Earlier NFR updates had indicated that trains were being operated through Line 3 under enhanced monitoring.
The latest development indicates progress in the restoration work, with Lines 2 and 3 now reported as restored. However, operational adjustments remain necessary while work on Line 1 continues.
Passengers travelling on the affected routes are advised to check the latest train running status before commencing their journey, as timings and operational arrangements may change depending on the progress of restoration work.
