
Kokrajhar: The Kokrajhar Police have rescued a total of 11 cattle in two separate operations as part of continued efforts to curb the illegal transportation and smuggling of cattle in Assam.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the police have remained vigilant against illegal cattle trafficking through both road and river routes. He stated that the operations were conducted by Kokrajhar Police and that legal proceedings have been initiated in both cases.
The police are also carrying out a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incidents, including the aspects connected with the movement and transportation of the cattle.
The Chief Minister appreciated the active role of the Assam Police in preventing illegal cattle smuggling and reiterated the importance of sustained enforcement against such activities.
