Dergaon: A new group of police officers and personnel is set to join the Assam Police force as Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is scheduled to take the salute at the passing-out parade of 32 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) and 371 Constables (Communication) at the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy (LBPA) in Dergaon on September 2.
The ceremony will mark an important milestone for the newly trained personnel as they prepare to begin their professional journey in the state police force. Assam Police said the new generation of officers and constables will enter service with a focus on duty, discipline and a firm commitment to serving the people of Assam.
The official programme poster identifies Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, as the chief guest for the passing-out parade. The event is scheduled to take place at the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy in Dergaon.
Alongside the passing-out ceremony, the academy will also host the 6th Conference of Senior Superintendents of Police on September 2 and 3. The conference is expected to bring senior police officials together at the LBPA for discussions and deliberations related to policing and the functioning of the force.
The two-day programme comes as Assam Police prepares to induct a sizeable group of newly trained personnel into its ranks. The 32 DySPs and 371 Communication Constables will add to the state’s policing and communication capabilities as they take up their respective responsibilities.
Assam Police described the occasion as the beginning of a new chapter for the recruits, emphasising the values of dedication, discipline and resolve as they enter public service.
The events at Dergaon will bring together newly trained police personnel and senior officers, with the passing-out parade serving as the formal commencement of service for the 32 DySPs and 371 Communication Constables.
