Several train services on the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section have been cancelled, rescheduled or regulated following the settlement of railway tracks near New Harangajao station, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) said.
Restoration work is underway on Lines 1 and 2 at the affected section. Train operations are currently being managed through Line 3, with additional safety precautions in place during the repair work.
The Guwahati–Silchar Express (Train No. 15615) scheduled to start on August 11 has been cancelled between Guwahati and Silchar. Its return service, Silchar–Guwahati Express (Train No. 15616), scheduled for August 12, has also been cancelled on the Silchar–Guwahati route.
A number of other services have been rescheduled due to the disruption. On August 11, the Narangi–Agartala Express will depart at 10:30 pm, while the Agartala–Narangi Express and Guwahati–Sairang Express are scheduled to leave at 11:30 pm. The Sairang–Guwahati Express will depart at 9:30 pm, while the Rangiya–Silchar Express will leave at 11:30 pm.
For August 12, the Silchar–Rangiya Express has been rescheduled to depart at 5 am. The Silchar–Coimbatore Express, originally scheduled to commence its journey on August 11, will instead leave Silchar at 4:10 am on August 12.
The Deoghar–Agartala Express, which started its journey on August 10, has also been regulated en route because of the restoration work.
NFR said train movement through the affected section is being handled with enhanced safety measures while restoration work continues. The temporary changes are expected to remain in effect until normal operations are restored.
