36 Meritorious Students Felicitated at Ghograpar Programme in Nalbari

Nalbari, Assam: Thirty-six students from the Ghograpar area who performed well in the recently held High School and Higher Secondary final examinations were felicitated at a special programme organised at Bonbhag Senior Secondary School on Wednesday.

The event was organised by the Ghograpar Regional Students’ Union to recognise the academic achievements of the students and encourage them to pursue their future goals with determination.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Dr Madhab Chandra Rajbanshi, Principal of Nalbari Medical College & Hospital, stressed the importance of perseverance and self-belief in achieving long-term success. He said consistent effort, patience and confidence are important qualities for students seeking to build successful careers and lives.

AASU Vice-President Bhawajit Bezbaruah, who attended the programme as a guest, spoke about the limitations of judging students solely on the basis of examination results. He noted that marks primarily indicate a student’s performance in recalling information and presenting answers within a limited timeframe, but do not necessarily capture qualities such as talent, intelligence, character and broader abilities.

Ghograpar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rana Bhuyan, Bonbhag Senior Secondary School Principal Munindra Rajbanshi, Nalbari District Students’ Union Adviser Akshay Deka and lecturer Pranjit Buzarbaruah also addressed the gathering. Their speeches focused on education, motivation and the importance of developing students beyond academic performance.

The felicitation programme was followed by a delegates’ meeting of the Ghograpar Regional Students’ Union later in the day. The meeting, which began at 5 pm, concluded with the formation of a new committee. Archik Ahmed was selected as the president, while Tanmoy Talukdar was appointed secretary of the organisation.
