MUMBAI, October 20: Investigators probing the firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s vehicle in Mumbai are examining evidence suggesting that the attack may have been planned in advance, with suspected handlers allegedly coordinating the operation and monitoring the actor’s movements.
Three accused — Hrithik, also known as Roshan, Rehan and Phool Singh — were arrested in Rajasthan’s Kota on Monday in connection with the incident. The shooting reportedly took place in Mumbai’s Juhu area as Shroff was leaving a football ground. Police have registered an attempt-to-murder case, and the investigation is being handled by the Mumbai Crime Branch.
Investigators suspect the accused may have visited the football ground before the shooting to observe the location and track the actor’s movements. Reports citing police sources indicate that the men may have visited the venue on an earlier occasion before allegedly returning on the day of the incident.
Police are examining CCTV footage, call detail records and mobile phone data to establish whether the accused communicated with other individuals before and after the firing. Investigators are also trying to determine whether additional people helped track the actor’s schedule or coordinate the alleged operation.
The investigation has also focused on the possible involvement of Anil Pandit, an alleged associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. An audio recording circulated on social media in which a speaker claiming to be Pandit reportedly took responsibility for the attack and issued threats against people associated with actor Salman Khan. Police are examining these claims to establish the authenticity of the recording and determine whether the suspected gang links are genuine.
According to reports citing investigators, financial incentives and promises of assistance in moving abroad may have been used to recruit the alleged shooters. Police are examining the suspected financial arrangements and communications to establish how the accused were brought together and whether others were involved.
Forensic analysis of the seized digital devices is expected to help investigators reconstruct the suspects’ movements and identify possible links with other individuals. Police are also reviewing footage from the football ground and nearby areas to determine whether the accused conducted surveillance before the shooting.
The motive behind the incident and the extent of any wider conspiracy remain under investigation. Authorities are continuing to examine the available evidence to establish the individual roles of the arrested accused and identify any alleged accomplices.
