Pune, June 28: The investigation into the alleged murder of Ketan Vishal Agarwal, a 25-year-old Pune-based realtor and director of Success Group, took a significant step forward on Sunday as the Pune Rural Police conducted a detailed crime scene reconstruction at Lohagad Fort near Lonavala with the two accused, Siya Goyal (20) and Chetan Chaudhary (22). The exercise was carried out to verify the sequence of events surrounding Agarwal’s death on June 18.
According to the police, both accused were taken to the exact location where Agarwal allegedly fell from the fort. Investigators recreated the entire sequence of events, including the route taken by the accused, their positions at the scene and the manner in which the alleged incident unfolded. The reconstruction was aimed at verifying the statements of the accused and corroborating other evidence collected during the investigation.
Pune Rural Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill said the reconstruction covered every aspect of the incident, including the movements of the accused and their actions at the spot. He stated that the accused guided the investigating team through the route taken, identified key locations and explained the sequence of events, enabling police to compare their statements with the evidence gathered during the probe.
To accurately assess the circumstances surrounding the alleged fall, investigators also used a dummy matching Ketan Agarwal’s body weight during the reconstruction. Deputy Superintendent of Police Gajanan Tompe said the dummy helped investigators analyse whether the alleged sequence of events was consistent with the physical conditions at the site.
Ketan Agarwal died after falling from Lohagad Fort on June 18. While the incident was initially treated as an accidental fall, the investigation later led Pune Rural Police to register a murder case. Police subsequently arrested Siya Goyal, Agarwal’s fiancée, and Chetan Chaudhary in connection with the alleged murder. Investigators allege that the two conspired to kill Agarwal, an allegation that will be examined during the judicial process.
Meanwhile, Ketan Agarwal’s father, Vishal Agarwal, appealed for justice for his son and expressed confidence in the investigation being carried out by the Pune Rural Police. He urged authorities to ensure strict punishment for those responsible and thanked the police, media and members of the public for their support during the investigation.
Police said the crime scene reconstruction is a crucial part of the ongoing investigation and will help verify the statements of the accused alongside forensic and other material evidence. Further investigation into the case is underway.
