A shocking incident in West Bengal has triggered fresh political tension after the reported killing of the personal assistant of senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari.
According to reports, Chandranath Rath, who was known to be closely associated with Suvendu Adhikari, was allegedly shot dead by armed attackers on a public road. The brutal attack has intensified the already volatile political atmosphere in the state.
Sources claimed that the assailants arrived on five motorcycles, with two armed men riding on each bike. Eyewitnesses also alleged that a Scorpio vehicle carrying additional armed attackers was involved in the operation.
Reports suggest that the attackers intercepted Chandranath Rath before opening fire at close range. The sudden attack reportedly left the area in panic as locals rushed to the scene after hearing gunshots.
Political circles are now abuzz with allegations that the conspiracy may have been aimed at targeting Suvendu Adhikari himself. However, no official confirmation regarding such claims has yet been made by authorities.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are examining CCTV footage, eyewitness accounts, and other evidence to identify the attackers and determine the motive behind the killing.
The incident has once again brought law and order in West Bengal under sharp political scrutiny, with opposition leaders demanding a thorough and impartial probe into the attack.
Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
