
GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced fresh changes to train services due to ongoing restoration work near New Harangajao station in Assam’s Dima Hasao district, with several trains cancelled, rescheduled and regulated.
According to an update issued by Northeast Frontier Railway, the service changes have been introduced in view of restoration work following the settlement of railway tracks near New Harangajao station.
Four Train Services Cancelled
The following trains have been cancelled:
- Train No. 15617 Guwahati–Dullabcherra Express on August 24, 2026.
- Train No. 15618 Dullabcherra–Guwahati Express on August 25, 2026.
- Train No. 15615 Guwahati–Silchar Express on August 24, 2026.
- Train No. 15616 Silchar–Guwahati Express on August 25, 2026.
Three Trains Rescheduled
NFR has also revised the departure timings of three services scheduled to commence their journeys on August 24:
- Train No. 15650 Narangi–Agartala Express will depart from Narangi at 6:30 pm.
- Train No. 20501 Agartala–Anand Vihar Terminal Tejas Express will depart from Agartala at 7:00 pm.
- Train No. 14037 Silchar–New Delhi Poorvottar Sampark Kranti Express will depart from Silchar at 10:10 pm.
Kolkata–Agartala Express to Be Regulated
In addition, Train No. 12501 Kolkata–Agartala Express, which commenced its journey on August 23, will be regulated en route as required.
The latest changes come as restoration work continues in the affected section near New Harangajao. Earlier NFR updates had also reported that train operations on the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section were being maintained with safety measures while restoration work was carried out following the settlement of railway tracks.
Passengers travelling on the affected routes have been advised to check the latest train running status and official railway updates before beginning their journey.
