Meghalaya’s Kitkupar Nongsiej Makes Top Five at World Championship of Performing Arts

Shillong, July 23: Young musician Kitkupar Nongsiej from Meghalaya has secured a place among the Top Five finalists at the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) being held in Las Vegas, United States, drawing congratulations from Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma.

In a post on X on Thursday, Sangma described the achievement as an inspiring moment for Meghalaya, saying it was encouraging to see a young talent from the state perform on an international platform.

The Chief Minister said he was pleased to have supported Nongsiej’s journey to the championship and wished him continued success in the competition.

“May his music continue to bring people together and make Meghalaya proud across the world,” Sangma said while extending his best wishes to the young performer.

The World Championship of Performing Arts is an international event that features participants from several countries, offering performers an opportunity to showcase their talent before a global audience.

Nongsiej’s selection among the Top Five finalists marks a significant achievement for the young artist and adds to Meghalaya’s growing presence on the international performing arts stage.
