Guwahati, October 24, 2026: Guwahati Police have arrested two people in connection with a theft case and recovered ₹80,000 from their possession, according to an update shared by the police on social media.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ekadashi Laskar and Anita Barman, both from Tamulpur in Assam. A team from Chandmari Police Station carried out the operation, which led to the recovery of the money.
In its statement on X, Guwahati Police said the team had successfully solved the theft case and recovered the reported stolen amount. The police also confirmed that legal action had been initiated against the two arrested individuals.
The operation highlights the role of local police teams in investigating theft complaints and recovering property allegedly taken during criminal incidents. Chandmari Police Station operates under the Guwahati Police Commissionerate, which oversees policing in the city.
