GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) is continuing its enforcement activities to tackle civic violations and improve sanitation across the city. Its Spot Fine Squad is carrying out regular monitoring and drives to discourage practices that undermine public cleanliness and hygiene.
The squad is taking action against people who litter public spaces, dispose of garbage improperly, dump waste illegally or use banned single-use plastic products. The initiative is intended to improve compliance with civic regulations and promote better waste management practices throughout Guwahati.
The GMC has called on residents to take greater responsibility for maintaining cleanliness in their neighbourhoods and public areas. Proper waste disposal and avoiding prohibited plastic products are among the steps citizens can take to support the corporation’s efforts to make Guwahati cleaner, greener and healthier.
