Devotees Seek Blessings, Prosperity and Spiritual Strength at Ambubachi Mela in Kamakhya

Guwahati, June 22: Thousands of devotees from across India have gathered at the sacred Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati to participate in the annual Ambubachi Mela, one of the most significant religious festivals associated with Shakti worship. Pilgrims arriving from different states expressed deep faith in Goddess Kamakhya and described the spiritual experience as transformative and uplifting.

Speaking during public interactions at the temple premises, several devotees shared their feelings about visiting the revered shrine. A pilgrim described the experience as being in the lap of the Divine Mother, saying the temple’s sanctum offers a unique spiritual atmosphere unlike any other place of worship. She noted that Kamakhya is not merely a tourist destination but a centre of spiritual awakening, where devotees can connect deeply with the divine consciousness of the Goddess.

A devotee from Gujarat said that visiting Kamakhya Dham brings immense joy and positive energy. He expressed confidence that lakhs of pilgrims from different parts of the country would visit the temple during the Ambubachi Mela and seek the blessings of the Goddess.

Local residents of Guwahati also participated in the celebrations. One devotee said that she regularly visits the temple throughout the year, but the festive atmosphere during Ambubachi Mela makes the experience even more special. Another visitor described feeling blessed and spiritually fulfilled after offering prayers at the shrine.

Among the pilgrims was a saint from Ayodhya Dham in Uttar Pradesh, who said it was his first visit to Kamakhya Temple. He expressed happiness at being able to witness the Ambubachi Mela and described his stay in one of the akharas near the temple as spiritually enriching.

Visitors from Unnao district in Uttar Pradesh also shared their experiences, saying the temple creates a strong sense of connection and inner peace. They noted that every visit to Kamakhya leaves them with a feeling of spiritual fulfilment and devotion.

The Ambubachi Mela, held annually at the historic Kamakhya Temple atop Nilachal Hill, attracts devotees, saints, sadhus and spiritual seekers from across India and abroad. The festival is dedicated to the divine feminine energy and is regarded as one of the most important religious gatherings in Northeast India.

As prayers, rituals and spiritual activities continue, devotees have been offering prayers to Goddess Kamakhya for happiness, prosperity, good health and strength, reaffirming their unwavering faith in one of Hinduism’s most revered Shakti Peethas.
