A shocking incident has surfaced from Punjab’s Amritsar district where a Punjab Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), identified as Joga Singh, was allegedly shot dead by unidentified bike-borne assailants.
According to police officials, the body of ASI Joga Singh was found on the Fatehgarh Churian–Majitha Road on Sunday morning. Local police received information about the incident and immediately rushed to the spot.
The Station House Officer (SHO) of Majitha police station conducted a preliminary inspection of the scene and confirmed that the officer had suffered a gunshot injury. The body was later shifted to a civil hospital for post-mortem examination.
Senior police officials, forensic experts, and technical investigation teams have also reached the crime scene to collect evidence and examine all possible angles behind the murder.
Police stated that the road where the incident occurred is a busy and frequently used route. Investigators are currently exploring multiple possibilities, including personal enmity, road rage, or any other criminal motive.
Authorities said the investigation is underway and further updates will be shared as more details emerge. The incident has triggered concern in the region, with security agencies intensifying efforts to identify and arrest the attackers.
