Passengers onboard IndiGo flight 6E 6304, scheduled to travel from Guwahati to Delhi on Wednesday morning, faced anxious moments and long delays after a technical fault was detected before takeoff at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati.
According to sources, the aircraft was preparing for departure when engineers identified a technical issue during pre-departure checks, forcing the flight to halt for immediate inspection. Passengers alleged that the aircraft’s engine shut down twice during the process, triggering panic among those onboard.
The unexpected delay reportedly stretched for hours, leading to frustration and confusion inside the cabin. Several passengers expressed concern over safety, while some claimed they were initially not allowed to deboard the aircraft despite the repeated technical snag.
As tension escalated, a few passengers reportedly came out of the aircraft forcibly, demanding clear information from airline officials. Later, passengers were informed that the flight would resume after the issue was resolved, but many travelers refused to continue the journey on the same aircraft due to safety fears.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic among families, elderly passengers, and children as uncertainty continued at the airport terminal.
IndiGo authorities are yet to release a detailed official statement regarding the nature of the technical fault. The incident has once again highlighted concerns surrounding aviation safety and passenger handling during technical emergencies.
