Suvendu Adhikari Calls for Strong Action Against Infiltration, Pushes “Detect, Delete, Deport” Slogan

Kolkata: Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday strongly advocated stricter measures against infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border, raising concerns over national security and illegal cross-border movement.

Addressing the media during an interaction related to border infrastructure and fencing development, Adhikari highlighted the importance of strengthening security arrangements along the Indo-Bangladesh border. He stated that the safety and security of both the nation and West Bengal were facing a “dangerous situation” due to infiltration issues.

Promoting the slogan “Detect, Delete, Deport,” Adhikari demanded intensified action against illegal infiltration and stressed the need for coordinated efforts between the state and central governments.

During his statement, Adhikari conveyed his wishes to the Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the force’s team, describing the occasion as a “meaningful day.” He claimed that after a long period, the state government had responded positively to requests from the Government of India and the BSF regarding land allocation required for border fencing projects.

According to Adhikari, previous administrations had allegedly delayed or denied handing over adequate land needed for fencing work along the Indo-Bangladesh border. He said the current administration had initiated steps to resolve the issue swiftly.

He further stated that officials from the state’s land department, under the guidance of the Home Secretary and Chief Secretary, had moved forward with the process of transferring land for security infrastructure development.

Adhikari announced that the state government was now prepared to hand over land required for nearly 27 kilometres of border fencing. The proposed allocation also includes land for border outposts and BSF infrastructure development projects.

The BJP leader maintained that stronger border infrastructure was essential to curb infiltration and ensure national security. His remarks come amid continuing political debates in West Bengal over border management, illegal immigration, and internal security concerns.
