According to eyewitnesses and reports from the event, Priyanka Bharali was performing a series of popular songs at the Chabua Bihu stage, entertaining a large crowd. During the performance, a young man reportedly approached the stage in an attempt to take a selfie with the singer.

The situation quickly turned tense when the singer allegedly became angry while the youth tried to click the photograph. Videos circulating online appear to show Priyanka Bharali confronting the youth on stage and asking him to leave. Soon after, the young man was reportedly pushed away from the stage amid the heated exchange.

Witnesses claimed that the youth later folded his hands and apologized, but the argument continued. Following the incident, some members of the organizing committee allegedly assaulted the young man, further escalating the controversy.

Later, Priyanka Bharali issued a clarification on social media regarding the incident. In her statement, the singer alleged that the youth had inappropriately touched her during the selfie attempt, which triggered her reaction on stage.

However, the youth and members of the Bihu committee denied the allegation of inappropriate physical contact. The incident soon divided public opinion online, with some supporting the singer’s concerns over personal boundaries and others criticizing the handling of the matter.

In a major development, officials of the Chabua Anchalik Rongali Bihu Sanmilan publicly apologized to the youth for the incident. The organizing committee also announced an indefinite boycott of singer Priyanka Bharali from their future events.

The controversy has since become a major talking point across Assam, with many debating celebrity behavior, public conduct during live performances, and the responsibility of event organizers in handling such situations.
