Aarau, Switzerland: A late-night shooting at a techno event in northern Switzerland has left one person dead and five others injured, with police launching a major operation to locate the suspected attackers.
The incident occurred in Aarau, a city north of Zurich, during the annual Aarauer Rave, which attracted around 3,500 people between Saturday afternoon and the early hours of Sunday.
Local police said several people were injured in the shooting, with some reported to be in serious condition. Authorities have not yet disclosed the identities of the victims.
According to Swiss newspaper Blick, the shooting took place shortly before 3:00 am local time near the racecourse where the rave was being held. Police spokeswoman Vanessa Rumpold was quoted as saying that several shots were fired amid a large crowd.
A witness reportedly described hearing repeated bursts of gunfire, triggering a significant police response around the event venue.
Suspects Still at Large
Police have yet to identify or apprehend those responsible for the shooting. A search operation is currently underway as investigators work to establish what led to the violence.
Authorities said the motive and precise circumstances of the incident remain unclear. Investigators are expected to examine evidence from the scene and gather information from witnesses as they attempt to reconstruct the events surrounding the shooting.
