NFR Cancels and Reschedules Trains Amid Track Restoration Near New Harangajao

GUWAHATI, August 26, 2026: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the cancellation and rescheduling of several train services as restoration work continues near New Harangajao station following the settlement of railway tracks on Lines 1 and 2.

According to an NFR press release, train services on the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section are currently being operated through Line 3 under enhanced safety measures while restoration work is underway on the affected lines.

As part of the revised train operations, Train No. 15617, the Guwahati–Dullabcherra Express, and Train No. 15615, the Guwahati–Silchar Express, scheduled to commence their journeys on August 26, have been cancelled.

The corresponding return services, Train No. 15618 and Train No. 15616, scheduled to operate on August 27, have also been cancelled.

Meanwhile, Train No. 15650, the Narangi–Agartala Express, scheduled to depart on August 26, has been rescheduled to leave Narangi at 6.30 pm.

Similarly, Train No. 15646, the Silchar–Charlapalli Express, has been rescheduled and will depart from Silchar at 10.10 pm on August 26.

The NFR said train operations on the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section are continuing through Line 3 with additional safety precautions in place as restoration work progresses near New Harangajao station.

Passengers have been advised to check the latest status of their respective train services before commencing their journeys.
