A major fire broke out at Murara Soirabari area in Rangia after two LPG cylinders reportedly exploded, causing extensive damage to property worth more than ₹5 lakh.
According to local residents, the incident took place early in the morning when the house owner was preparing for the day. A family member first noticed flames rising from the back side of the building and immediately alerted others.
Speaking to the media, the house owner said the fire spread rapidly within minutes. He stated that they quickly informed the fire service by calling emergency authorities, but by the time the fire tenders arrived, a major portion of the property had already been engulfed in flames.
Preliminary suspicion suggests that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. The affected portion of the house had reportedly been rented out to a tenant identified as Thakur and his family.
Locals said two cylinders exploded during the incident, intensifying the blaze and destroying almost everything inside the house. Household items and belongings were completely reduced to ashes.
Residents estimated that property worth nearly ₹5 lakh was lost in the fire. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident.
The incident has created panic in the locality, while locals have urged authorities to investigate the exact cause of the fire and ensure proper fire safety awareness in residential areas.
