Dilapidated Condition of Rangia Integrated Infrastructure Development Centre Sparks Public Outrage

The poor condition of the Integrated Infrastructure Development Centre in Rangia has triggered strong reactions from local workers and residents, who have accused the authorities of prolonged negligence and failure to maintain basic infrastructure in the industrial area.

Despite the government’s repeated focus on industrial development, locals alleged that the condition of roads, parking spaces, drainage systems, and basic facilities inside the centre has become extremely poor.

During a media interaction, several workers and vehicle owners expressed frustration over the deteriorating infrastructure. One individual claimed that there is no proper parking facility in the area, forcing vehicles to move through damaged roads filled with stones, mud, and waterlogging. He alleged that his vehicle tyre burst while exiting the parking area due to the poor road condition.

Residents and workers also complained about unhygienic surroundings, lack of drainage, and the absence of proper bathroom facilities. According to them, the area becomes nearly unusable during rainfall as drains overflow and roads remain submerged in water.

Local representatives stated that many women workers who travel to the industrial area on bicycles frequently face difficulties due to damaged roads and punctured tyres. They alleged that workers often have to return home because of transportation issues, affecting their livelihoods.

The speakers further questioned the role of the concerned department, alleging that incomplete repair work was carried out earlier but no permanent solution has been provided. They claimed that repeated complaints have only resulted in officials shifting responsibility from one department to another.

Locals warned that if the problems are not resolved soon, they may launch a public agitation demanding immediate repair and development of the industrial infrastructure.

They also highlighted the absence of proper street lighting and safety measures in the industrial area. According to residents, vehicles frequently meet with accidents in the parking zone due to waterlogged and damaged surfaces, while heavy machinery is often needed to pull stranded vehicles out of mud-filled areas.

The residents urged the authorities to take immediate action and improve the condition of the Rangia Integrated Infrastructure Development Centre before the situation worsens further.
