Sonitpur: A blood donation drive was held at Rangapara Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Sonitpur district as part of commemorative activities marking 150 years of the national song Vande Mataram.
The initiative was organised by Assam Rifles in coordination with the district administration and local authorities. Assam Rifles personnel, residents and other civilians participated in the camp, contributing to the voluntary blood donation effort.
The programme highlighted the importance of community participation in supporting healthcare services, particularly by helping maintain adequate blood supplies for patients requiring urgent medical treatment.
Organisers said the camp was aimed at promoting humanitarian service and strengthening cooperation between security personnel and local communities.
The event also underscored the spirit of collective responsibility, with participants coming together to support a cause directly linked to saving lives.
