Gauhati University Hosts Cancer Awareness Programme with Adeep Ankuran Foundation

Guwahati: Gauhati University organised a cancer awareness programme in collaboration with the Adeep Ankuran Foundation, bringing together healthcare professionals, students and members of the university community to highlight the importance of cancer prevention, early detection and timely treatment.

The programme was organised as part of efforts to promote greater health awareness and encourage informed discussions on cancer and its prevention. The initiative was led by the Gauhati University National Service Scheme (NSS) unit.

During the programme, participants were sensitised to key aspects of cancer awareness, including preventive measures, the importance of recognising symptoms at an early stage and seeking appropriate medical care without delay.

Dr. Pranab Bhuyan, Assistant Superintendent at the State Cancer Institute, attended the programme and addressed the gathering. The event was also attended by Dr. Ranjan Kumar Kakati, associated with Gauhati University’s NSS activities, along with other guests and participants.

Gauhati University said the initiative was aimed at strengthening public awareness about cancer and encouraging people to take proactive steps towards better health.
