Guwahati Police Recover Stolen Yamaha R15 Within Three Hours, Two Arrested

Guwahati, August 7: In a swift breakthrough, the Guwahati Police solved a motorcycle theft case within just three hours of receiving the complaint, leading to the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of the stolen vehicle with assistance from the Meghalaya Police.

According to Guwahati Police, the case was investigated by a team from Noonmati Police Station under the Central Guwahati Police District (CGPD) after the theft of a Yamaha R15 motorcycle (registration number AS19R9826) was reported.

During the operation, police arrested the alleged thief, Idul Ali alias Babu Boro (22), a resident of Pathar Quarry. Another accused, identified as Edilbert Skhemlon (28) from Mawsyinram in Meghalaya, was also taken into custody for allegedly receiving the stolen motorcycle.

The stolen Yamaha R15 was successfully recovered during the operation, which was carried out with the support and coordination of the Meghalaya Police.

Police officials said prompt investigation and inter-state cooperation played a key role in tracing the motorcycle and apprehending the accused within hours of the complaint being lodged.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against both arrested individuals in accordance with the relevant provisions of law. Further investigation is underway to determine whether the accused have links to any other vehicle theft cases or criminal activities.

The successful operation highlights the importance of rapid police response and coordination between law enforcement agencies in tackling cross-border crimes and ensuring the recovery of stolen property.
