Mumbai: Mumbai Police are verifying an alleged threat issued against Bollywood actor Aamir Khan after a purported social media post surfaced claiming to be from individuals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Authorities are also examining a voice note that reportedly accompanied the online message.
According to sources, the purported post was allegedly signed in the names of Arzu Bishnoi, believed to be the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, and another individual identified as Tyson Bishnoi. Investigators are working to establish the authenticity of both the social media post and the voice recording before taking further action.
The message accused Khan of promoting what it described as “love jihad” and claimed that such actions were against the country’s culture, Sanatan Dharma, and national interests. It further warned that individuals allegedly encouraging such activities under the influence of their celebrity status would face consequences.
In addition to targeting the actor, the post referred to the alleged kidnapping, trafficking, and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar last month. While commending the administration for its response to the case, the message alleged that certain political leaders were attempting to shield some of the accused and warned of retaliation if anyone involved managed to evade legal action.
The purported statement also paid tribute to two individuals identified as Parvesh and Himanshu, describing them as “martyred brothers” and vowing that those considered responsible for their deaths would receive a “fitting reply.”
Sources said Mumbai Police received information about the alleged threat through the Facebook post and the accompanying voice note, both of which remain under verification. Officials have not yet confirmed the authenticity of the communications or the identity of those behind them.
Police sources further stated that neither Aamir Khan nor any member of his team has so far lodged a formal complaint regarding the alleged threat. Authorities indicated that appropriate legal action, including the registration of a case, may be initiated if a complaint is received and the ongoing verification establishes sufficient grounds for further investigation.
The matter remains under investigation, and officials have not issued any formal confirmation regarding the origin or authenticity of the alleged threat.
