BJP Targets Mamata Banerjee, Congress After Calcutta High Court Order on Cow Slaughter

A political controversy has erupted in West Bengal after leaders associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that a recent order by the Calcutta High Court against cow slaughter on roads was a setback for parties allegedly practising “Muslim vote bank politics.”

The remarks targeted Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee and Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of opposing restrictions on cow slaughter and promoting appeasement politics.

BJP leaders said the High Court’s decision should be welcomed by all political parties and claimed the ruling supports “true secularism” in the state. The issue is expected to further intensify political tensions ahead of upcoming elections in West Bengal.
