Ajmal Announces Support for Evicted Families, Promises Housing and Education Aid in Assam

AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has announced major support initiatives for families affected by eviction drives in Assam, including financial assistance for children’s education and the construction of houses for displaced people.

Speaking to the media during an interaction with evicted families, Ajmal said that many children, especially girls, were being deprived of education because their families could not afford school admission fees. He stated that he would personally take responsibility for ensuring that no child remains out of school due to financial hardship.

Ajmal said nearby schools would be approached to secure admissions for the affected students, and the required fees would be paid through arrangements made by his team. He stressed that education was his “number one target” and that every child should have access to schooling.

The AIUDF leader also announced plans to provide shelter for evicted families in multiple phases. According to him, arrangements are being made for nearly 2,500 to 3,000 temporary housing structures. The first phase is expected to begin with around 50 to 60 units.

Ajmal further said efforts were underway to arrange land and gradually construct permanent houses for the displaced families. He also called for an end to eviction drives across Assam, stating that affected people require rehabilitation and humanitarian support.

His remarks have drawn attention amid ongoing debates over eviction operations and rehabilitation measures in different parts of the state.
